This appeared earlier today also in a story on WDSU. The story was removed. However, we would like to share our response with those who may read this blog.

The Pope speaks well and all should listen. However, he, his cardinals, his bishops, his priests, his deacons must not simply talk the talk but also walk the walk. Too often they fail to carry out the very words they speak. The Church is for all and in that Church there must be equal treatment for all humans not preference to only some. Jesus, himself, reached out to all, rich and poor, sinless and sinful, people of all faiths, and people of all nations. This is the challenge to the Church once again today. May it and faithful of all faiths combine to achieve this goal.

TO ONE AND ALL A HAPPY AND BLESSED NEW YEAR. Today, this city, this parish, and surrounding parishes, this state, and this nation are faced with difficulties that call for leadership. That leadership is lacking. We must all face our obligations as citizens and choose leaders of quality and ability and not ones of promises and certain ancestries. We must examine closely their past, including their associations, etc. We must remember the reason why this nation was founded and the words of our founding fathers as found in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. This is the basis of my beliefs and those of many others. We have consistently called ourselves our the years - the Velvet Glove Brigade and we will try to post on this site as well as the public sites of New Orleans and Louisiana. Make your voice hear. Make the demands as citizens to the rights that all are entitled to. God Bless the USA.

SO MUCH TO DO AND SO LITTLE TIME

Well, dears, I have been posting away on various sites. It has become quite interesting here in "da parishes" in Southeast Louisiana in particular. Why the scandals are popping up all over the place. However, what is most interesting is the fact that so many people are now starting to take a stand by posting on the internet at the various sites of the news media. What is even more interesting is that some of these politicians have finally caught on to the movement that is growing. We expect this to become even more evident as it gets closer to election time. In addition contractors with the various agencies will be coming even more closely watched as time goes by and disclosures are made. The corruption of this area was finally made public by the storms called Katrina and Rita and the Gustave and Hugo. Yes, all of these storms will play a factor in the disclosure of facts that have laid hidden over the years.

Now is the time for the citizens of Louisiana to band together to overcome what has kept them from the prosperity that was there in good times. The national issues are also a disgrace and we expect disclosures to become evident about them also.

However, the major factor that is still a hindrance to these disclosures and to recovery from the storm is the issue of racism. Immediately the paid analysts start making predictions based on ancestry rather than qualifications. Very unfortunate and people will still fall for this age old battle and not seek the best of the best regardless of ancestry. On one post, we recently, read it stated that we are still fight the Civil War in Louisiana. That might be a correct analysis but what we are fighting is a question of ignorance and hate created by politicians who have taken advantage of people of varied ancestries over the years. How do we solve this War For The Vote?

1. Put aside the isssue of ancestry. This will be hard to do because the politicians will be shoving it into your face at every opportunity that they have.

2. Look carefully at the candidate's qualifications and not their promises.

3. Listen to what they can do, not what they promise to do.

4. Ask what is best for the city, the parish, etc.

5. Join forces with others to make demands on the candidates and be blunt and forceful. Put them behind the 8 ball and not your self.

6. Think about the good of all and not just yourself.

Let's start cleaning house and let's do a complete job. Let the law officials - the DA's, the Federal Attorneys of this state start the move to hold the political criminals liable for their actions. You have seen the tip of the iceberg. However, that iceberg cannot melt until ever last DAMN crook has been given his/her punishment.

It is up to us the ordinary citizen to start the movements. Now, let's do it.

NEW ORLEANS - THE FUTURE

The future of New Orleans depends on the coming elections for mayor, city council membership, etc. For too long the citizens of this state have allowed

THIS PAST WEEK

While I have been busily posting on many sites this past week, dears, I decided to follow Rhett's advice and go back to my blog. At my age keeping up with so many other sites can take all day. Now let's look at some blatant facts:

Dumb Nuts (that is Mayor Nagin to some) or Looselips, as we always call him, has signed with a legal firm out of D.C. to represent the city in its actions. HMMMMM. It is his actions and those of his appointees that are at issue. Make him pay the bill.

Now what about Mose? Guilty. Ellenese, dear, you could have been something too but greed got in the way and frankly, dear, your hatred and need for power. Does it not all come down to that greed, hatred, and power? Yes it does.

Now the T-P wants to have the Governor step in on this Charity hospital escapade. No way shape or form should Pi interfere. He has caused enough problems in this area and others. Time for him to take a hike also - out of state but not to D.C. Let him get a real job rather than an appointed or elected one. Charity hospital should have been back in operation a long time ago with improvements made with FEMA money. These new buildings are not necessary. Bring the existing buildings up to date and let's get moving. DAMNATION IT DOES NOT TAKE A GENIUS TO UNDERSTAND WHAT HAS TO BE DONE, EVEN IF I AM ONE MYSELF.

Now crime continues to rum rampant and who do we have to blame, ourselves. For decades we have allowed this city to go to rack and ruin because we, the citizens, have not united to elect a true leader but allowed personal issues to interfere. Now is the time to make a change. Get ready for the next election dears. Hell, stop talking about Brad, and start talking about me or someone else that will be candid, determined, and will not fail ALL people. ONWARD, DEARS, ONWARD FOR A NOUVELLE NEW ORLEANS!!!!!!
